Located in East Austin, Oswaldo A. B. Cantú Pan American Park is a beloved community gathering space and historic cultural venue managed by the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department. The park is known for its open green spaces, shaded pavilions, and the Pan American Recreation Center, which has served as a cornerstone of Austin’s Latino community since the 1950s.

During the Day of the Dead Festival, the park is transformed into a lively cultural plaza filled with art installations, altars, food booths, and performance areas. Families gather to enjoy traditional music, storytelling, face painting, and children’s activities in a safe, alcohol-free, and family-friendly environment.

The venue’s central location, near East Cesar Chavez and Pleasant Valley, makes it easily accessible by public transit and bicycle, with limited on-site parking and additional shuttle options provided for major events.

Amenities:

Large green lawn and shade trees

Outdoor stage and performance area
