Hemisfair is San Antonio’s historic urban park and cultural district—originally built for the 1968 World’s Fair and now reimagined as a vibrant gathering space blending history, art, play, and community. The newly opened Civic Park at Hemisfair is the city’s premier outdoor venue for concerts, festivals, and large-scale cultural celebrations, offering a lush central lawn, shaded promenades, fountains, and a built-in stage designed for public programming.
As the home of Muertos Fest, Hemisfair becomes a canvas of color and memory each October—filled with altars, music, markets, and processions celebrating the spirit of Día de los Muertos. Visitors enjoy easy access to food vendors, rest areas, the Yanaguana Garden play zone, and downtown amenities, all within walking distance of the River Walk and Alamo.
Facilities and Features:
Civic Park Great Lawn (main performance area)
The Promenade (altar and mercado area)
Yanaguana Garden (family zone and workshops)
