DESCRIPTION:The SBA Houston: #NVSBW25 Boots to Business Reboot is a special one-day entrepreneurship training program designed for veterans\, active-duty service members\, National Guard and Reserve members\, and military spouses interested in launching or growing a business. Presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) during National Veterans Small Business Week 2025 (#NVSBW25)\, this intensive workshop provides participants with the foundational knowledge and resources needed to transition from military service to successful business ownership. \nHosted at the University of Houston Small Business Development Center (UH SBDC)\, the event features a full-day curriculum covering the fundamentals of small-business ownership\, financing\, marketing\, and strategic planning. Experienced business advisors\, veteran entrepreneurs\, and SBA resource partners—including SCORE Houston\, the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC)\, and the Texas Gulf Coast SBDC Network—will guide attendees through hands-on exercises and actionable business planning tools. \nProgram topics include: \nEvaluating business ideas and understanding market opportunities \nBasics of business planning and startup strategy \nFunding options and government contracting for veteran-owned businesses \nLocal and national resources available through the SBA and its partners \nParticipants will also learn how to enroll in follow-on programs such as the Boots to Business Revenue Readiness course for continued training and mentorship. \nThe Boots to Business Reboot program supports the SBA’s ongoing mission to empower veterans and their families to become successful entrepreneurs.
