The Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston (IHCH) is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1965 and officially incorporated in Texas in 1967, dedicated to celebrating and disseminating Hispanic culture through education, arts, and community engagement.
Guided by a range of committees—such as education, performing arts, scholarships, and diversity—the IHCH provides merit‑based scholarships, volunteer opportunities, and cultural programming in partnership with local institutions.
The institute organizes vibrant annual events like “Latin America in the Americas” (aligned with Día de la Hispanidad) and the longstanding “Día de la Hispanidad” folkloric festival at Miller Outdoor Theatre to highlight Latin American traditions.
Supported by corporate and individual sponsors, IHCH fosters inclusion and cultural understanding while empowering Houston’s Hispanic community through scholarship and educational initiatives.
