The 2025 Muertos Fest opens with a deeply resonant night of remembrance and celebration: ¡PRESENTE! A Night to Remember. This opening evening sets the tone for the weekend, inviting the community to reflect, connect, and honor the legacy of conjunto legend Flaco Jiménez.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Sensory-Friendly Altar Viewing — As dusk approaches, guests are invited to stroll peacefully among over 80 community altars in a calm, low-sensory environment. This quiet period offers space for contemplation and connection.

8:00 p.m. onward: Musical Tribute to Flaco Jiménez — At 8:00 p.m., the spotlight shifts to a concert honoring the life and artistry of Flaco Jiménez. Curated by Juan Tejeda with support from Max Baca, the tribute features an all-star lineup including Santiago Jiménez Jr., David Hidalgo & Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos, Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs, and more. The evening blends reverence and celebration through music, stories, and community.
