Event Series: Wurstfest 2025

Wurstfest 2025 is a ten-day celebration of German culture, music, food, and fun in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Set along the banks of the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas, this world-famous festival—often called “the best ten days in sausage history”—invites visitors to raise a stein and enjoy the state’s most authentic Oktoberfest-style experience.

Now entering its 65th season, Wurstfest combines old-world charm with Texas hospitality, offering a lively mix of polka music, Bavarian entertainment, carnival rides, and traditional German food and beer. Visitors can explore sprawling festival grounds featuring multiple music tents, dance halls, craft beer gardens, and riverside seating, all designed to create an atmosphere reminiscent of Munich’s legendary Oktoberfest.

Festival Highlights:

Live performances by local and international German bands playing polka, waltz, and folk music

Authentic cuisine, including bratwurst, schnitzel, strudel, and pretzels

German, Texan, and craft beers served in souvenir steins

Kinderhalle children’s area with family-friendly activities

Bavarian marketplace featuring artisan goods, souvenirs, and collectibles

Carnival midway, games, and traditional parades

Every year, thousands of visitors—many dressed in lederhosen and dirndls—descend on New Braunfels to experience this vibrant cultural tradition. The festival’s riverside location offers scenic views, cool breezes, and easy access to the city’s historic downtown district, making it a favorite destination for locals and travelers alike.

Wurstfest’s enduring popularity reflects New Braunfels’ deep German roots and its commitment to preserving cultural heritage while celebrating community and fellowship. What began in 1961 as a one-day sausage festival has grown into a beloved international attraction that honors tradition, music, and, of course, the wurst.
